Those anxious for the start of baseball season won’t have to wait long to get their first taste of action, as the Sterlington Sports Complex hosts the fourth annual Cajun Collision that features several NAIA competitors, including LSU Shreveport, on Feb. 8-11.
The Pilots enter the tournament as a top five preseason pick in the 2024 NAIA coaches poll, and head coach Brad Neffendorf serves as the tournament director. He will work alongside site coordinator Kerry Elee and senior vice president of sales Scott Bruscato for what Sterlington officials believe will be a huge event locally.
“Sterlington is once again proud to host the Cajun Collision,” Sterlington Mayor Matt Talbert said. “This fourth annual tournament promises to be a great one. Brad Neffendorf and his team put together a great line up of high-level teams to compete each year. We would encourage the public to come out and watch these college teams compete at the highest level in the NAIA baseball.”
No. 2 Georgia Gwinnett, No. 11 Missouri Baptist, No. 18 Mobile, No. 21 Texas Wesleyan, No. 22 Central Methodist, along with state schools Louisiana Christian, Loyola and LSU Alexandria will all participate in the NAIA tournament.
