The Permits and Inspections Department regulates and inspects construction for compliance with building code standards, manages floodplains within the Town and provides and coordinates approval of construction plans with other departments.

New Construction

New construction must obtain all of the proper building permits and are subject to inspections from both the building inspector and the Fire Marshall.

Additions & Remodels

Any additions that changes the roof line or includes plumbing or electrical must obtain the proper building permits and are subject to inspections.

Address Verification

The parish and other municipalities require that the municipal address of the property be obtained and/or verified by the 911 GIS Coordinator before they issue a permit. This is a crucial step in maintaining the accuracy of the mapping utilized for emergency response. The links below will help residential and commercial applicants obtain an address.
