Mayor
The Town of Sterlington Mayor is the chief administrator of the Town and is elected every four years. Listed below are just a few of the Mayor’s responsibilities.
- Overseeing the performance of all Town Departments
- Implementing policies and ideas adopted by the Town Council
- Ensuring that all projects, operations, and functions of the Town operate efficiently
- Ensuring all Local, State, and Federal laws are followed by the Town of Sterlington
- Responding to citizen concerns
The Mayor also works to develop the Town’s annual budget, and works with other administrators in the region.
The responsibility of the Mayor is to serve all citizens and business owners fairly and openly. A commitment to applying these principles in the most professional and timely manner possible Is key in guiding our community through continued growth and success.
Town Council
The Town of Sterlington Town Council acts as the legislative branch of our government, as well as its policy-making body. The Council looks to the Town’s goals, major projects and infrastructure improvements ranging from community growth to land use to finances and strategic planning. The Council’s goal is to do the very best to represent their constituents after they have seen to the needs of the Town as a whole.
